SWAMP GAS
Three
weeks following the (in)famous Dexter-Hillsdale,
Michigan UFO sightings of March, 1966, I entered into
this life just a few miles down I-94 in Detroit, Michigan...and
into a country fraught with a far-off war and a cultural,
social and racial revolution. Meanwhile, The Beatles
were in Abbey Road Studios recording what would become the
Paperback Writer/Rain 45 rpm and newspapers all
over the United States, and especially in Michigan, printed
front page stories of strange objects in our skies, oftentimes
witnessed by our police officers and other credible witnesses
On
Monday, December 12, 1994, sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.,
I awoke to an odd, electronic voice imploring me to "WAKE
UP. WAKE UP. WAKE UP." My shoulder was repeatedly
prodded until I opened my eyes. I then saw a small orange
flickering flame atop my blanket that was quickly growing
brighter. Moments later the contents of my second floor
apartment were burning out of control.
So
it goes.
In
1996, following several dramatic UFO encounters around Ann
Arbor, Michigan (illustration)
Mutual UFO Network (MI MUFON) investigators asked me to assist
them as a sketch artist in cases involving alleged encounters
with 'aliens' and UFOs and with the MUFON's
Abduction Transcription Project. My
alien-related artwork was displayed at the 1997 MUFON International
Symposium in Grand Rapids, MI. It was there that
Dr. Jodi Dean noticed the pieces and later included them in
her seminal socio-political survey, Aliens
In America
