COMMISSIONING
AN ARTWORK:
Initial Contact
Contact me to discuss the subject matter and any requirements
that you may have. I will give an initial estimate of price
as well as provide an estimate on time to completion.
Finalizing
the Quote
If you agree to the initial quotation, I will send you a written
quote, a confirmed timescale and a description of the commission
for you to agree.
Accepting
the Quotation
Once you are happy to go ahead with the commission, I will require
a non-returnable deposit of 25% (usually via PayPal invoicing)
to confirm your acceptance and to cover my initial costs. This
is because commissioned work is unique and specific to you alone.
If you decide that you no longer want the drawing, then my efforts
are unlikely to have any value for anyone else.
Progress
of the Commission
During the illustrative or design process I will send you at least
two updates for approval. The first one will be early in the development
of the work to check that the project meets with your approval.
Once you have approved this update I will continue the commission
to near-completion. I will then send you a copy of the commission
for you to check and request any final minor changes (within limits
permitted by the medium).
Payment
and Guarantee
I will send you a finished copy of the commission for final approval.
If you are happy with it, then I will send a PayPal invoice for
the remaining balance of 75% (plus any special postage requests).
Timescale
Allow a maximum of six weeks from the date you pay the 25% deposit.
However, I would expect most commissions to take no more than
four weeks, often less. Delivery times depend on the size of the
commission and also how much other work I have at the same time.
Copyright
The copyright of all commissions remains with the artist. Prints
cannot be taken of any work without my written consent. If
you wish for extra prints at a later stage, then please contact
me and I will provide them for you at a very reasonable price.
